Joel Embiid credits James Harden for success after Sixers beat Clippers

Joel Embiid gives all the credit to James Harden after the Philadelphia 76ers knocked off the Los Angeles Clippers.

The Philadelphia 76ers were able to come away with a 120-110 win over the Los Angeles Clippers on Tuesday night to improve to 3-0 on this five-game road trip. They were able to do so thanks to another huge night from Joel Embiid.

The big fella poured in 41 points on 12-for-22 shooting and he shot 15-for-18 from the free-throw line. He was absolutely terrific in all phases of the game being able to score from the mid-range, knock down triples, and take defenders off the dribble.

The pick-and-roll game between him and James Harden continues to grow as well. The Clippers weren’t sure what to do in that facet of the game and the Sixers took advantage of that. The Beard didn’t shoot the ball well–he was 1-for-6 from the floor–but he did have nine assists on the night.

“I don’t want to get too much credit,” Embiid told TNT’s Jared Greenberg in a sideline interview after the win. “It all goes to him. He’s been amazing since he’s been in Philly. Just making everybody including myself included.”

The biggest thing with Embiid has been his ability to roll off the screens. This is probably the most rolling he has done in his career and he has been able to adjust to that and also flourish next to a guy like Harden on the floor.

“So when you got two guys that have a high basketball IQ, I think anything can work,” Embiid added to Greenberg. “He’s made my life easier. I’m sure I’ve made his easier, too, but like I said, we got a long way to go. We know how much we can get better and we’re gonna get better.”

Embiid, Harden, and the Sixers will continue the road trip on Thursday when they take on the Portland Trail Blazers.
