Joel Embiid, Allen Iverson now only Sixers to score 25+ in 20 straight

Joel Embiid now joins Allen Iverson as the only two players in the history of the Philadelphia 76ers to score 25+ in 20 straight games.

Philadelphia 76ers superstar big man Joel Embiid continued his dominant season in Sunday’s 119-108 win over the Chicago Bulls by dropping 40 points with 10 rebounds. He dominated all day, shooting an efficient 14-for-23 from the floor and 10-for-11 from the foul line.

He made life miserable for Bulls big man Nikola Vucevic and any other Chicago defender tasked with trying to stop the big fella.

In the process, Embiid made more history. This was the 20th straight game Embiid has scored at least 25 points. He joins franchise icon Allen Iverson as the only two players in franchise history to have a streak of at least 20 games with 25-plus points.

Embiid and the Sixers also picked up an important win amid his onslaught. Philadelphia is 1 game behind the Bulls in the standings and just 1.5 games behind Miami Heat atop the Eastern Conference. The Sixers also now own the tiebreaker over Chicago for the season. They have knocked off the Bulls in all three of their matchups; one matchup remains, March 7 in Philadelphia.
