Joe Rogan compares airplane passenger harassing Mike Tyson to ‘headbutting a beehive’

“If you find yourself where Mike Tyson’s reaching over the back of an airline seat and punching you in the face, I think you probably earned it.”

UFC commentator and popular podcast host Joe Rogan believes the airplane passenger who messed with [autotag]Mike Tyson[/autotag] got what he deserved.

Last week, an “extremely intoxicated” passenger – later identified as Florida man Melvin Townsend – bothered Tyson, prompting the boxing legend to turn around and unload a flurry of punches on him while seated. Tyson walked off the plane seconds after the incident, which was caught on video, and the bloodied Townsend received medical attention.

The way Rogan sees it, Townsend had it coming.

“It’s real simple: That dude was a douchebag,” Rogan said on a recent episode of “The Joe Rogan Experience” podcast. “He was annoying one of the baddest motherf*ckers that’s ever walked the face of the Earth. …

“It’s so dumb! It’s not even kicking a beehive. It’s like smashing – it’s headbutting a beehive.”

Rogan labeled Townsend, who at first took a selfie with Tyson, as annoying and rather silly for thinking Tyson wouldn’t eventually react to his behavior.

“If you find yourself where Mike Tyson’s reaching over the back of an airline seat and punching you in the face, I think you probably earned it,” Rogan said.

He continued, “People get crazy. They think just because he’s Mike Tyson, he’s famous, he can’t just punch you. You’re annoying him! He’s gonna just f*cking hit you like a normal person would.”
