Cincinnati Bengals running back Joe Mixon is in the middle of a late-season resurgence, though even his best game of the year wasn’t enough to get a FedEx Ground Player of the Week nomination.
It’s a bit wild considering Mixon rattled off 146 yards and a touchdown on a 6.3 average, as well as three catches for 40 yards.
Mixon outpaced every nominee on the tweet below for an award that eventually went to Derrick Henry of the Tennessee Titans. One look at the comments on the tweet suggests most seemed to know Mixon was a massive snub.
One could argue Mixon’s team lost, but other running backs have won the award this year on losing efforts.

Mixon knew it too:

At this point though, Mixon would probably settle for a 1,000-yard campaign, which seemed unfathomable with how this year started. He’s sitting on 789 yards and three touchdowns with three games to go.
