Joe Mixon shares heartfelt message with fans after first win

Joe Mixon was honest with Bengals fans during these tough times.

Joe Mixon is one of the prominent faces of the Cincinnati Bengals and Zac Taylor has made it apparent the star running back is a pulse for the locker room.

Coming out of Sunday’s win, Mixon is assuming the role.

Something of a straight shooter, Mixon kept it simple when talking with the media about the season and what he would tell fans:

“At the end of the day, it’s been a rough patch, but it’s going to get better. We definitely appreciate every single one of you all that came out and supported us, even the ones that watched it on television. It’s been tough, but stick with us.”

Like anyone else on the roster, this season hasn’t unfolded as Mixon has planned. He’s up to 643 yards but has just two scores on a 3.5 average, a far cry from his AFC-leading rushing mark last year. More importantly, the Bengals stumbled to the worst start in team history.

Yet, things continue to trend for the better. Mixon has scored in two of his last three outings and has 79 or more yards in three of his last four.

And there’s the win too, of course.
