Joe Mixon pulling in some awards for his Week 4 performance against the Jacksonville Jaguars seemed like a given.
Mixon’s outburst lifted Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals to their first win of the season, as 25 carries for 151 yards and two touchdowns on a 6.0 average would tend to do.
The star back also caught all six of his targets for 30 yards and another score.
Wednesday, the Bengals announced Mixon was named an AFC Offensive Player of the Week.
The award and performance came on the heels of an unexpected trip to the hospital for Mixon on a Saturday night after he was experiencing chest pain.
Clearly, that didn’t stop Mixon from putting up one of the best games of his career and he’s been understandably honored for the performance.
