It was only a matter of time before Cincinnati Bengals running back Joe Mixon commented on reports of his agreeing to a new four-year contract extension.
And given that much of the speculation about the entire ordeal happened because of some mysterious tweets by Mixon in the first place, it only makes sense his comments first popped up on Twitter.
Mixon wrote the following:
“Life is about both the journey and the people along the way. Can’t thank my family, the OU family and my Bengals family more for always being there for me and supporting me.”
The new deal for Mixon reportedly checks in at four years and $48 million, meaning he’s in town for at least the next five seasons as he finishes out his rookie deal this season.
Tyler Boyd, one of the team’s other most vocal players online, naturally commented on the developments:
Life is about both the journey and the people along the way. Can’t thank my family, the OU family and my Bengals family more for always being there for me and supporting me. #whodey pic.twitter.com/QuB7rgi4Z7
