Tennessee redshirt senior quarterback Joe Milton III has been named to the Davey O’Brien Award preseason watch list.
Milton III is one of 35 players on the list.
The Davey O’Brien Award is presented to the best quarterback each year. It is the oldest and most prestigious national quarterback award.
Milton III enters his sixth season in college football and third at Tennessee. He is one of two SEC quarterbacks on the preseason watch list.
Milton III was Tennessee’s backup quarterback. He started Tennessee’s final two games after Hendon Hooker suffered a season-ending injury at South Carolina.
He was named MVP of the Orange Bowl after leading the Vols to a 31-14 victory against Clemson.
