Joe Harris sets career-high with strong first half vs. Clippers

Joe Harris put on a show in the first half of the Brooklyn Nets’ game against the Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday.

Joe Harris had himself a day in just one half of basketball.

Brooklyn’s sharpshooter was on fire out of the gates against the Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday. In the first quarter alone, he scored 16 points on 6-for-6 shooting, draining all four of his 3-point attempts.

Harris slowed down a bit in the second quarter, but he still had a strong showing, scoring seven points on 3-for-5 shooting (1-for-3 from 3-point territory).

So, the Nets shooting guard entered halftime with 23 points to his name on 9 of 11 shooting (5-for-7 from deep) in 13 minutes of action — after being deemed doubtful for the game as late as Saturday with a left groin contusion.

Those 23 points are a career-high in a half for Harris. His previous career-high (22) came in a meeting with the Toronto Raptors in February last season.
