It seems the shocking loss to the New York Knicks the day after Christmas has put the Brooklyn Nets into a rut. Because, for the first time since mid-November, the Nets have lost three games in a row.
Brooklyn has struggled with it’s shooting throughout the stretch.
Spencer Dinwiddie is scoring, but he hasn’t been efficient. Garrett Temple has gone ice cold. Taurean Prince wasn’t good against New York or in Monday’s overtime loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves. Joe Harris did well in Minnesota, but he struggled in the two games prior.
But Harris wouldn’t place the blame on Brooklyn’s shooting. He thinks the Nets are dealing with issues that are far more controllable, which he expressed to reporters on Monday:
I guess it’s more of a mental thing at this point. You just have to muster up energy and a level of focus. There should be a level of maturity in this locker room where, you know, we’ve all been through the grind of an NBA season a number of times and you can’t have slides like this. You can’t have three-game spans where it’s more of an energy thing at the end of every game where you’re coming back in the locker room you’re, like, trying to figure out what the hell is going on. But, at the end of the day, it’s just more of a mental thing than anything else. It’s just a lack of focus, lack of energy.
