The Cincinnati Bengals don’t have any qualms about opening up the checkbook this offseason.

Duke Tobin and the front office made that clear in free agency by standing as one of the most active teams in the NFL. They technically committed more than $100 million between outside free agents and the A.J. Green franchise tag.

Now they’re committing even more to No. 1 overall pick Joe Burrow.

According to MMQB’s Andrew Brandt, Burrow will get a four-year guaranteed deal worth $36.2 million, with $23.9 of it as signing bonus.

As Brandt goes on to note, the Bengals could’ve gotten this done at any time as holders of the first overall pick.

Whether the Bengals did isn’t public, but the team has made it clear all parties have known he’d be the pick for a few weeks. Bengals owner Mike Brown sent Burrow a letter and No. 9 jersey Wednesday.
