Former LSU quarterback Joe Burrow’s rookie season came to an end on Sunday when he was carted off the field after suffering a left knee injury in the Bengals’ 20-9 loss to the Washington Football Team.
The injury occurred with less than 12 minutes left in the third quarter on Sunday.
And further reports of the details seem to have only gotten worse, as a recent MRI revealed that Burrow tore his ACL, MCL and suffered other structural issues in his knee.
Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reported that this is an injury similar to the one Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz suffered a few years ago, which caused him to miss the first two games of the following season as well.

So, while we don’t know a current timetable on exactly how long Burrow will be out, this could serve as a rough estimate.

Burrow was on track for a season with Rookie of the Year potential, completing over 65% of his passes for 2,688 yards with 13 touchdowns and five interceptions up to the season.
He’ll hope to continue to build upon that next year, when he’s expecting to make his much-anticipated return.
