Joe Burrow’s big throw against Georgia shows why he’s NFL ready

Burrow’s future at the next level.

Joe Burrow is very clearly an elite college level quarterback. His passing numbers are top notch, and he’s one of the frontrunners for the Heisman trophy.

That doesn’t always necessarily translate to success on the next level, though. We’ve seen Heisman-level quarterbacks flop in the past when it comes to the NFL.

However, it looks like Burrow is ready for the next level. His latest big play against the Georgia Bulldogs’ elite defense is proof enough.

Not only is Burrow an elite player from the pocket, but he’s also great on his feet and knows how to extend a play while keeping his eyes down the field. That’s exactly what he does here against the Bulldogs in Saturday’s SEC title game.

Burrow avoided the initial rush from the Bulldogs and made a couple of defenders look silly as the pocket collapsed around him.

Instead of panicking and running out of bounds or throwing a wild pass, he stayed composed, kept his eyes down the field and Justin Jefferson in stride for a big play. That’s next level stuff right there.

Obviously, nothing is guaranteed at the next level in the NFL for anyone. But it’s plays like this that get scouts and analysts excited about Burrow’s potential at the next level. The future is bright for the Tigers’ young quarterback.
