Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow will see action during his team’s third and final preseason game this weekend against the Miami Dolphins.
Bengals head coach Zac Taylor announced the news on Wednesday, telling ESPN’s Ben Baby the following: “It’ll be very limited. We’ll be smart with what we do.”
Burrow getting preseason snaps was always a possibility in the third exhibition, especially after he was cleared early in camp. Teammates haven’t been permitted to hit him as he continues rehab, but this is the latest step in a predictable process that has always featured Week 1 of the regular season as the end goal.
More from Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com:
Zac says he’s looking to get Joe some snaps in the huddle in a 4 pm game: “Very limited, but checks boxes.”. Trey Hopkins also starts. Zac has idea of number of snaps for Joe but won’t say.
