Joe Burrow is already setting the tone for the Cincinnati Bengals — provided he’s the No. 1 pick in the 2020 NFL draft.

Speaking on the Dan Patrick Show on Friday, LSU’s Heisman Trophy-winning passer said he wants to go first overall “But you also want to go to a great organization that is committed to winning. Committed to winning Super Bowls.”

It could be read as curious timing for that sort of comment since former Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer went out in an interview recently and indeed said he didn’t feel the Bengals were committed to winning Super Bowls.

But other than the odd timing and similarity between the two statements, this is moreso a rather encouraging thing to hear from a potential No. 1 pick — this is the attitude Burrow or any prospect should have while on their way to the Bengals.

This declaration from Burrow comes a day after Tua Tagovailoa’s agent told the media he didn’t want his client to land with the Bengals.
