Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow knows one of the keys to NFL success is keeping his offensive linemen in front of him happy.

And Burrow has a plan to make sure the guys keep fighting for him on every snap.

Besides buying them some nice Christmas gifts, Burrow says the key is to simply be genuine with his guys, per Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com:

“It’s just natural. You just be yourself, talk to them, have conversations about them. Be confident in the huddle. O-linemen really have a good B.S. meter and if you’re not confident in the huddle and saying the play confidently, they are going to think you don’t know what you’re doing so that’s something I’ve really taken to heart and tried to do.”

Burrow’s clearly already made some strides in this area. Jonah Williams has already praised the No. 1 pick in this area. And so has a big locker room leader like Tyler Boyd.

Being genuine with those around him is just a part of Burrow, which is why he didn’t shy away from admitting he wasn’t good enough Tuesday during training camp redzone work.

This sort of approach from Burrow has clearly already resonated with players on the team, so it’s safe to say he won’t have to worry about effort from the guys up front responsible for keeping him safe.
