Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow is the perfect candidate for the exploding-in-popularity Netflix documentary series “Quarterback” after its successful Season 1 debut.
Burrow, approached by the makers of the show to be in the spotlight, declined.
Which for Bengals fans, tracks given what they know about the prolific passer and his approach to non-football things.
‘”If you guys know anything about me. Media isn’t my favorite thing to do,” Burrow said, according to Chris Renkel of Local 12. “The process of that show is very intense, and there’s a lot of time you have to give to a show like that. Time I’m not ready to give right now.”
That said, Burrow noted he would perhaps like to do it during a different year, as captured by CLNS Media’s Mike Petraglia:

Producers for the breakout hit show have had problems with notable candidates declining, but Burrow has at least left the door open for future seasons.
Burrow being open to it at all is a good thing for Bengals fans, though it’s understandable that amid contract extension discussions and his first normal training camp as a pro, he didn’t want all the extra noise that comes with being the focal point of a show.
