Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow didn’t get a tackle to protect him with the team’s first-round pick. But he doesn’t seem disappointed. The Bengals took LSU receiver Ja’Marr Chase with the sixth-overall pick, making him the first player taken at his position.
Burrow and Chase attended LSU together, and in 2019 the receiver put up 84 catches, 1,780 receiving yards and 20 touchdown receptions. They absolutely tore up the SEC on the way to a national championship win. Burrow went on to be the No. 1 overall pick in 2020, and Chase opted out of the 2020 college season due to the pandemic.
Burrow posted to Twitter to share his excitement about the reunion.
