Joe Burrow now has same MVP odds as Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes

Who predicted this before the season?

Entering the season, Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow was a massive question mark and Kansas City Chiefs passer Patrick Mahomes seemed like a surefire favorite for the MVP.

Now they have the same odds at the MVP award.

Over at Tipico Sportsbook, both Burrow and Mahomes share a +4000 mark in the MVP running, planting them roughly seventh behind the likes of Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson.

If nothing else, it’s a fun illustration of just how quickly things can change in the NFL. Mahomes has regressed this season for the 3-4 Chiefs, throwing 19 touchdowns and 10 interceptions over eight games. Those turnovers are more than he’s had in all but one season and close to his career-high of 12 set over 16 games.

As for Burrow, he’s back faster than anyone would have dared predict and looks great with his 20 touchdowns and nine interceptions for a Bengals team that was in the running for the AFC’s top seed.

At this pace, if Burrow and the Bengals can keep winning, he’s not the worst value as an MVP play, either.
