In less than 24 hours, Joe Burrow figures to be a key figure in the rivalry between the Cincinnati Bengals and Pittsburgh Steelers.

And it sure sounds like he knows it.

Speaking with Mike Florio of NBC Sports before the draft, Burrow name-dropped Pittsburgh as a place he’ll have to go and thrive under pressure in while being confident in the preparation.

“You can’t go into Pittsburgh and win a game if you’re not confident in your abilities. It’s crazy for me to think that somebody that isn’t 100 percent confident in their own abilities…you just can’t thrive under pressure like that if you aren’t 100 percent confident in your teammates, yourself, your coaches and the preparation you put in.”

That was an…intereting choice of locale for Burrow to mention ahead of the draft. Technically, he might have to go into Pittsburgh and get a win with any team no matter where he gets drafted but…come on.

Then again, Burrow to the Bengals has been a horribly kept secret for quite a while now. While he may be looking at an unorthodox offseason for a rookie thanks to global circumstances, we’ve seen Burrow tackle plenty of hostile environments well over the past year.

Burrow should get his first shot at playing in Pittsburgh next season.
