Cincinnati Bengals center Ted Karras was the team’s Walter Payton Man of the Year Charity Challenge winner after the fans voted for him. To repay them, he decided to offer free tattoos.

Jay Morrison of Pro Football Network wrote that Karras wasn’t going to get a tattoo that day, but Joe Burrow offered to donate $25,000 to the Village of Merici, which provides residential and community opportunities for adults with developmental disabilities, if Karras would get one too.

He took up Burrow on the offer and got a tattoo of the “Cincy” logo from the hats he has been selling since November 2022 to raise money for the Village of Merici.

“He (Burrow) is a man of his word, and so am I, so I’m getting this tattoo,” Karras said via Morrison. “I’m a little nervous. I see people coming up, and they’ve got the patch on, and it’s a little bit bloody, and I’m like ‘Oh, man.’”

Many fans who received free tattoos donated to the Village of Merici as well at the event where close to 500 people received tattoos from 45 local tattoo artists.

At the Sunday event branded “St. Tatt-rick’s Day,” many Bengals attended, including Trey Hendrickson who signed autographs for fans.
