Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow had to deal with plenty of comparisons to Miami Dolphins passer Tua Tagovailoa before the 2020 draft.
Now their respective star wideouts, A.J. Green and DeVante Parker, have been looped into the debate too.
The crew at “Good Morning Football” hosted a debate asking three analysts which duo they’d rather have. All said the Bengals’ duo, with this comment sticking out the most:
“There is no comparison in my option with A.J. Green and DeVante Parker. A.J. Green is clearly the superior wide receiver…this dude was one of the premier wide receivers in this league.”
No question — Green is on a Hall of Fame pace if he can get back on the field and play a healthy three-plus years. Parker, already 27, has just a single 1,000-yard season to his name. Both have had their challenges when it comes to the passers getting them the ball.
As for those rookie passers, Burrow’s the unquestioned starter from Day 1 while the same isn’t a guarantee for Tagovailoa. That’s a debate we’ll have to revisit years later, though it certainly helps Burrow’s got a guy like Green in his corner for at least one season.
