With five home runs in Houston over the weekend, Jocelyn Alo tied Lauren Chamberlain’s all-time home run record with her 95th career home run. Just 10 games into the 2022 season, Alo more than likely will break the record this weekend in California.
After a big weekend, Jocelyn Alo was named the Louisville Slugger/NFCA player of the week.

It’s the second time in her Sooners career that she’s won the award, but it hasn’t happened since March 27, 2018. Alo’s been on a tear to start the season, hitting .500 in 30 at-bats over the first ten games of the season and leads the Sooners in total bases and RBIs.
It’s an incredible feat to have 18 runs batted in in 10 games and is a testament to the Sooners’ depth up and down the lineup. Teams can’t pitch around her because of the success that Kinzie Hansen has had at the plate as well.
That depth makes the Sooners incredibly difficult to beat and now they have the pitching to match. They haven’t allowed an earned run in the 2022 season.
With five games coming this weekend in the Mary Nutter Classic in California, it’s incredibly likely that she’ll break Chamberlain’s record this weekend in fewer games than it took the Sooners legend to set the all-time home run record.
