Gooch was previously committed to Auburn. He committed to the Tigers on April 16.
The 2021 prospect holds SEC offers from Tennessee, Auburn, Georgia, Mississippi State, Ole Miss and South Carolina.
Gooch was initially offered by Jeremy Pruitt and Tennessee on May 23, 2019.
He has visited UT unofficially three times since Pruitt has been UT’s head coach: Sept. 22, 2018 for the Vols-Florida contest, Sept. 7, 2019 for the Tennessee-BYU game and on March 1 before the coronavirus pandemic canceled spring collegiate athletics.
