Jiri Prochazka wants to leave no doubt his status as UFC light heavyweight champion by running it back.

UFC light heavyweight champion [autotag]Jiri Prochazka[/autotag] wants to leave no doubt about his status by having a rematch with [autotag]Glover Teixeira[/autotag].

Prochazka (29-3-1 MMA, 3-0 UFC) dethroned Teixeira (33-8 MMA, 16-6 UFC) in a barnburner at UFC 275 in June, becoming the first man to submit the Brazilian. The back-and-forth battle earned Fight of the Night honors.

However, prior to getting submitted in the last 30 seconds, two of the three judges had Teixeira up heading into the final round. Prochazka deemed his performance horrible and after confronting Jan Blachowicz to set up his first title defense, he has now diverted his attention to a rematch with Teixeira.

“I want to fight Glover my next fight,” Prochazka said on his Instagram. “Not because it will be another big fight, but just one reason: My performance was bad the first fight, and I will show you why I’m the champion clearly, decisively. And I think Glover deserves it. So here’s the offer: I will show you why I am the champion.”

The news will come as a pleasant surprise to Teixeira, 42, who expressed his desire to run things back with Prochazka in a recent interview with MMA Junkie. Teixeira, who was on a six-fight winning streak prior, mentioned the possibility of retiring in the lead up to the fight but after almost retaining his title, Teixeira thinks his performance warrants an immediate rematch.
