Chances are you have that friend who stinks at texting. You send them a quick note or question that should only take a second to respond to but then it can be hours or – gasp! – days before you hear back from them.
For me, that’s my dad. He tries to get in the text game but his response rate is far from acceptable.
For San Francisco 49ers star tight end George Kittle, that is Jimmy Garoppolo, his quarterback.
Kittle had some fun in Miami earlier this week by calling Jimmy G “the worst texter of all time.”
“I’m telling you, he leaves me on ‘Read’ all the time. I’ll be like ‘Hey Jimmy, I’ve got a question. Maybe on this play, should I run my route like this?’ No Response. ‘Jimmy, want to go to a movie?’ No response. And then next day he’s like ‘Yeah, I got your text. I just didn’t respond.’ Thanks, Jim. That’s awesome. So yeah, he’s a bad texter. Bad communication.”
Well, being the serious journalist that I am, I asked Jimmy G about this on Wednesday.
And he admitted it: he really is a terrible texter.
Here’s Jimmy G coming clean to me about his text struggles:
Jimmy Garoppolo opened up to me about George Kittle calling the QB the “worst texter in the world.”

We all can’t be perfect, I guess.
