The Philadelphia 76ers are sitting at home while former veteran and closer Jimmy Butler is leading the Miami Heat to the NBA Finals where they will take on the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday inside the bubble.
There have been many reasons why most people believe Butler left Philadelphia for Miami. Some, and even Butler himself, have blamed former coach Brett Brown, some have blamed Ben Simmons, but sometimes, a certain person just is who he is and he just needs to find a place where he can fit in.
During NBA Finals media availability live on NBATV on Tuesday, Butler was asked by a reporter what the difference between Philadelphia and Miami is. After all, he did leave a very talented Sixers team that came awfully close to winning in 2019 for a Heat team that did not make the playoffs.
Butler had this to say:
I just get to be me here. I get to call it how I see it. Nobody takes it personally. I don’t have to worry about anybody trying to control me as it was said people was trying to do over there, but I have no hard feelings toward any of those players pr anybody in that organization. I’m glad to be where I am. As you can tell, it’s worked out, and that’s where I leave it.

Butler opened up on his relationship with both Simmons and Joel Embiid back in February saying that he does not have an issue with either player. Things just did not work out with the Sixers and at this point, it’s all about moving on and finding personalities that fit with each other. [lawrence-related id=37984,37973,37970]
