No. 8 Alabama (6-1, 4-0 SEC) will host No. 15 Tennessee (5-1, 2-1 SEC) at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa, Alabama on Saturday.
Rankings reflect the US LBM Coaches Poll.
Texas A&M (4-3, 2-2 SEC) played Alabama and Tennessee in its last two games.
Alabama won at Texas A&M, 26-20, in Week 6, while Tennessee defeated the Aggies, 20-13, in Week 7.
Texas A&M head coach Jimbo Fisher previewed the Alabama-Tennessee matchup on Wednesday’s Southeastern Conference coaches media teleconference.
“Defensively, both have really good fronts, backers are active, secondaries cover well,” Fisher said. “Offensively, Alabama is not as much no-huddle. I thought Tennessee’s backs were excellent, quarterback is big and strong, receivers are fast. Alabama, a little different approach in how they go about their offense, but still very skilled, have very good receivers.
“Both games were one-score games, one-play games. Very physical, kicking games are sound and what they do, so it should be a heck of a football game.”
Kickoff between the Vols and Crimson Tide is slated for 3:30 p.m. EDT. CBS will televise the SEC matchup.
