Voluntary minicamp continued on Wednesday for the Cleveland Browns in Berea as preparation for the 2023 season ramps up. In a few clips of practice shared on social media defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz could be heard vocal to his defense as he coached them up. During media availability, Denzel Ward spoke on Schwartz and his coaching style.
“We need to be coached up…Guys got to be out here knowing what they’re supposed to do and doing our job and he’s making sure that he’s holding us to that standard.”
There were players unhappy under former defensive coordinator Joe Woods and regular communication issues and assignment confusion. It looks like early in preparation for 2023 Jim Schwartz wants to ensure everyone knows where they are supposed to be and their assignments.
#Browns DC Jim Schwartz didn't hold back today. He was on the field coaching guys up and keeping them accountable on everything from technique, formation, communication and coverage.
He says he plans to get them even tougher as the work is able to pick up more at training camp. pic.twitter.com/TEhwQW5zRa
