One of the biggest questions the Indianapolis Colts face this offseason is in regard to the quarterback position and whether they will look for a replacement for Jacoby Brissett.
At 27 years old, Brissett has two full seasons as a starter under his belt. After a disappointing 2019 season, Colts owner Jim Irsay believes Brissett is on the rocks and that he needs more time to develop.
Irsay on QBs: "I think Jacoby is on the rise, and you've got to give him time to develop." Cites Manning getting off to a slow start at the beginning of his career.

Brissett certainly had a rocky season. He started off with some strong games, tossing 14 touchdowns through the first six contests for the Colts, but his final eight full games played, he finished with just four touchdown passes.
How the Colts address their quarterback room is still a mystery. They could stick with Brissett and not make any moves. They could draft a young prospect in April or they could take a veteran in free agency.
Brissett is the starter right now and if the Colts believe he can bring more value to the team as the quarterback from before his MCL injury, there is a chance they try to roll with him in 2020 while adding better pieces around the roster.
But Irsay also mentioned they are keeping their options open this offseason—a statement that holds little value in trying to predict what the Colts will do.
The Colts don’t necessarily have time to develop Brissett like he’s a rookie. He’s 27 years old and if it’s going to take the same amount of time for Brissett to improve his game as it would a young rookie in the draft, why not go with the latter?
The Colts love keeping their moves close to the vest so we won’t know about the quarterback situation until something changes (or doesn’t), but it should be an interesting offseason regardless given how the room currently looks.
