The praise, the accolades and the respect are coming in full force for the Colorado Buffaloes and Deion Sanders after their Week 1 victory over TCU. The Buffs are now ranked, and ticket prices are going through the roof for the first home game of the Coach Prime era.
After the Week 1 victory, Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh touched on the Buffs’ performance. Harbaugh was able to watch from home because he was serving the first game of his three-game suspension (h/t Aaron McMann of MLive.com).
“That was quite a performance,” Harbaugh told the Stoney and Jansen show on WXYT-FM 97.1 “The Ticket,” praising quarterback Shedeur Sanders for his 510-yard, 4-TD game. “And Travis Hunter — the 144 plays. I mean, it was tough to take the eyes off that game.”
During halftime, Coach Prime did an interview on Fox and said, “If he (Hunter) gets two deep balls, the Heisman is at his crib chillin’ right now.” Well, Harbaugh gave Coach Prime some praise with a coach of the year take as well (h/t MLive.com):
“Maybe the ‘Coach of the Year’ (award) is chilling in Prime’s crib,” Harbaugh said.
If the Buffs can string together some more wins and make some noise, the coach of the year award could be headed his way. Who knows.
