One position of need the Pittsburgh Steelers still have with less than two weeks to the start of the NFL season is outside linebacker. The Steelers have shuffled in multiple players this offseason, but none have panned out as viable backups to T.J. Watt and Alex Highsmith.

But the New York Jets might have waived a player who could come in and help the Steelers. According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the Jets have waived edge rusher Bradlee Anae. Also according to Pelissero, Anae has had a strong preseason and is a good candidate for the Jets practice squad.

Anae was a fifth-round pick of the Dallas Cowboys in 2020 out of Utah. He had 14 sacks in back-to-back seasons at Utah, and his college film is solid. Unfortunately through two NFL seasons he has yet to get on the field much.
