Jets vs. Texans inactives: Corey Davis out with groin injury, John Franklin-Myers active

Zach Wilson will be without his leading receiver in his return, as Corey Davis is out for the Jets with a groin injury against the Texans.

Zach Wilson will be without his favorite target in his return to the field, as Corey Davis is out with a groin injury against the Texans.

Robert Saleh was originally optimistic about Davis’ chances of suiting up in Week 12. However, the 26-year-old was downgraded from questionable to doubtful on Saturday and will miss his third game of the season. Davis’ absence leaves the Jets with just five healthy wide receivers with Denzel Mims still on the COVID-19 list and without their leading receiver and rusher after Michael Carter landed on injured reserve with a high ankle sprain.

C.J. Mosley (shoulder) and John Franklin-Myers (hip) are both active. There was concern about a hip flare-up potentially keeping Franklin-Myers sidelined, but he’ll suit up and assume his spot on the defensive line. Foley Fatukasi (foot), Shaq Lawson (wrist) and Nathan Shepherd (elbow) are also active after being listed as questionable.

Rounding out New York’s inactives are La’Mical Perine, Isaiah Williams, Jonathan Marshall, Tim Ward, Rachad Wildgoose and Jarrod Wilson. Josh Johnson is active and will serve as Wilson’s backup.

As for the Texans, they will be without a familiar face on Sunday. Former Jets defensive end/outside linebacker Jordan Jenkins is out with a knee injury. Wide receiver Nico Collins (hip), defensive end Jonathan Greenard (foot) and cornerback Lonnie Johnson (illness/foot) are active.
