Jets rookie WR Denzel Mims evaluated for a concussion

Denzel Mims left New York’s Week 17 matchup against the Patriots as the rookie wide receiver is being evaluated for a head injury.

Denzel Mims has left the Jets’ Week 17 matchup against the Patriots and is being evaluated for a concussion.

Mims was sandwiched between two Patriots defenders and took a blow to the head after hauling in a 15-yard reception in the first half. Mims’ catch in traffic was his first reception since Week 15.

If the rookie wide receiver doesn’t return to Sunday’s contest, he’ll finish his season with 23 receptions on 44 targets for 357 yards and no touchdowns in nine games. It took a while for Mims to get going, as he missed some games between multiple hamstring injuries and a personal matter.
