Jets release first injury report of season, Duane Brown did not practice Wednesday

Duane Brown highlights Wednesday’s injury report.

The Jets’ first injury report of the season has been released and there is a little cause for concern with New York’s big August acquisition on the offensive line.

Left tackle Duane Brown did not practice Wednesday. He was listed with a shoulder injury. Only one other player was listed as missing practice Wednesday was the obvious one, quarterback Zach Wilson (knee).

Four other Jets were listed as limited participants in practice Wednesday: OT George Fant (knee), DB Justin Hardee (calf), OL Conor McDermott (ankle) and CB DJ Reed (knee).

Not exactly the most comfortable feeling seeing one starting tackle missing the first practice of Week 1 and two other tackles being limited, especially when it’s the Ravens coming to town. That leaves just one tackle on the current active roster healthy at the moment. The Jets do have a couple of tackles on their practice squad, if need be, including Grant Hermanns and Eric Smith.

Thursday will be an important day to see if any of these players, especially Brown and Fant, improve their status heading into the end of the week.
