Head coach Robert Saleh confirmed to the media that Mike White will start in Week 12 against the Chicago Bears.

Adam Schefter broke the news that Zach Wilson had been benched this week by the team after players were informed at a team meeting that Wilson would not be starting this week.

Saleh was non-committal to Wilson when speaking to the media Monday, beginning speculation that Wilson could potentially be benched this week. That became official Wednesday and now the Jets have confirmed it will be White as the starter, who became the backup quarterback a few weeks ago.

White started three games for the Jets in 2021 in place of an injured Wilson, including throwing for 405 yards and three touchdowns against the eventual AFC champion Cincinnati Bengals.
