C.J. Mosley will be a game-time decision against the Patriots on Sunday.
The Jets linebacker is dealing with a hamstring injury suffered in New York’s Week 5 loss to Atlanta in London. Gang Green won’t decide on Mosley’s Week 7 status until Sunday morning.
“C.J.’s gonna go down to the wire,” Robert Saleh said Friday.
Should Mosley miss his first game of the season, rookie Jamien Sherwood will step in as New York’s MIKE linebacker. Saleh and DC Jeff Ulbrich have both expressed confidence in the first-year pro’s ability to lead New York’s defense.
“He studies his butt off,” Saleh said of Sherwood, adding that the fifth-round pick is already an advanced tackler. “He belongs.”
Saleh added that Tyler Kroft is likely a no-go on Sunday. The tight end is recovering from a back injury and “doesn’t look good” for the Patriots rematch.
