Jets injury report: New York down multiple starters for showdown with Texans

Six starters will be out for the New York Jets on Thursday Night Football against the Houston Texans.

The Houston Texans will be without four key players for Thursday Night Football’s showdown against the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium.

New York is now down six starters, including two All-Pro talents.

According to the Jets’ final injury report, wide receiver Allen Lazard, linebacker C.J. Mosley, offensive lineman Alijah Vera-Tucker, defensive back Tony Adams, defensive tackle Leki Fotu and safety Ashtyn Davis are all out for Thursday night.

Linebacker Chazz Surratt (heel), offensive tackle Morgan Moses (knee) and tight end Kenny Yeboah were all listed as questionable.

New York, which currently sits at 2-6, will also debut its new kicker after signing both Riley Patterson and Spencer Shrader to its practice squad.  One should be promoted to that active roster after a struggling Greg Zuerlein was officially placed on injured reserve with his knee injury Wednesday.

The Texans will be without linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair, defensive back Jimmie Ward, offensive lineman Jarrett Patterson and running back Dameon Pierce.

Houston also will be without star receiver Stefon Diggs, who was placed on the season-ending injured reserve after suffering a torn ACL in Sunday’s win over the Indianapolis Colts.
