The Jets have their man to run the offense in 2023. The team announced they have hired former Broncos head coach Nathaniel Hackett as their new offsite coordinator.

Hackett reunites with head coach Robert Saleh. The two worked together in Jacksonville from 2014 to 2016 while Saleh was the linebackers coach for the Jaguars and Hackett coached quarterbacks and eventually became offensive coordinator.

The Jets will be the fourth NFL team Hackett has been offensive coordinator for. He also held the position with the Bills, Jaguars and Packers before being hired last year as head coach of the Broncos. He also served as offensive coordinator at Syracuse.

Hackett becomes the second member of his family to serve as offensive coordinator for the Jets. His father, Paul Hackett, held the position from 2001-2004.

The Jets also announced they have hired Keith Carter as their offensive line coach and run game coordinator. Carter and Saleh have worked together in the past in Seattle. Both were on the 2013 staff that won Super Bowl XLVIII.

Carter spent the last five seasons coaching the offensive line for the Tennessee Titans. He also previously coached the offensive line and running backs on Dan Quinn’s staff with the Atlanta Falcons.
