Jets hire former Broncos coach for defensive assistant role

The Jets added a new defensive coach to Robert Saleh’s staff.

The Jets added another member to their defensive coaching staff.

New York hired former Broncos quality control coach Nathaniel Willingham, according to the New York Post’s Brian Costello. Willingham spent the past three years with the Broncos after working at Stanford University from 2015-2018 and at Menlo College in 2014. He was a quality control analyst, defensive assistant and recruiting assistant at Stanford and coached tight ends at Menlo.

Willingham is the son of former college coach Tyrone Willingham, who was the head coach at Stanford from 1995-2001, Notre Dave from 2002-2004 and Washington from 2005-2008.
