If you’re going to follow a team that plays just over the George Washington Bridge at the Meadowlands in New Jersey and you choose to remake the iconic intro for The Sopranos, you’d better do it right.
Lucky for HBO’s Hard Knocks in their latest episode, they nailed it.
Using footage of New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh driving in for the team’s preseason game against the New York Giants, the training camp series threw in shots of the exits, of players getting ready and of Saleh — like Tony Soprano — contemplating something while driving, all set to the Alabama 3’s Woke Up This Morning.
Check it out, along with the original:
I still can’t believe Hard Knocks gave us a Soprano’s tribute tonight with Robert Saleh. So awesome. Bravo, @NFLFilms…
James Gandolfini was a die hard #Jets fan. He would have been proud. RIP. pic.twitter.com/dEl03JNJyC
