It was another week full of despair for the New York Jets, losing 15-10 to the New England Patriots at home in Week 3. With Zach Wilson at the helm, the Jets have fallen to 25th in Touchdown Wire’s Jarrett Bailey’s latest power rankings.
Upon losing to the Patriots on Sunday, the Wilson-led Jets are now 1-2 and he’s lost both of his starts since replacing Aaron Rodgers under center. The Jets were 11th in Bailey’s power rankings last week as everyone is adjusting to what this team looks like without Rodgers operating the offense.
Things have looked dire offensively for the Jets with Wilson at quarterback, with the third-year signal-caller struggling mightily in multiple areas. Wilson has yet to show any improvements in his game that suggest he can steer the Jets in the right direction, prompting some to question whether or not Robert Saleh should start someone else.
The defense is still the strong suit of the Jets, but everything is tougher when the offense is unable to sustain drives or move the ball. Frustration is certainly mounting for a team that had playoff aspirations before the season began.
The road doesn’t get any easier for the Jets in Week 4 as they face the Kansas City Chiefs at home, so they could certainly continue to plummet down the power rankings.
