The Baltimore Ravens bolstered their defense in a big way by trading for now-former Chicago Bears inside linebacker Roquan Smith. They traded multiple draft picks and inside linebacker A.J. Klein to do so, signaling that they envision the two-time All-Pro to be a big-time contributor for the 2022 season, with the potential to be in Baltimore for a long time if the two sides can agree to a long-term extension.
On Tuesday, the Ravens’ official website updated their roster to include Smith, with his jersey number being listed along with it. According to the website, the 25-year-old will wear No. 18 in Baltimore, moving off of his old number of No. 58, which is currently occupied by defensive lineman Michael Pierce.

According to updated #Ravens roster, Roquan Smith will wear No. 18.
Additions of Smith, Bowser, Ojabo, subtraction of Klein and Worley (signed back to practice squad again) leaves the roster at 53.

Smith’s old number in No. 58 is currently being worn by defensive lineman Michael Pierce, who is on injured reserve and done for the year. The linebacker’s college number in No. 3 is currently being worn by wide receiver James Proche II.
