Jerry Jeudy’s knee ‘was not an issue’ for Broncos

“We felt very comfortable with Jerry’s knee and where he was,” John Elway said.

One day before the draft, NFL Network reported that two teams expressed concerns about Alabama wide receiver Jerry Jeudy’s knee at the combine earlier this offseason. Jeudy underwent left knee surgery in 2018 but that surgery didn’t seem to hinder him over the last two seasons.

The Denver Broncos were presumably not one of the two teams that had concerns about Jeudy’s knee because they selected him with the 15th overall pick in the first round on Thursday evening.

“All the information we had, when it comes right down to his health all the information that we had [looked good],” general manager John Elway said during a Zoom conference call with reporters on Thursday.

“‘Greek’ [the director of sports medicine] and his crew, Steve Antonopulos and [head athletic trainer] Vince Garcia, our training crew, they do extensive work on everybody,” Elway said. “We felt very comfortable with Jerry’s knee and where he was, so that was not an issue.”

Denver has four more picks to use on Day 2 of the NFL Draft.
