The Miami Dolphins lost Jerome Baker in the first quarter of their Week 7 matchup with the Atlanta Falcons to a knee injury that forced him to miss the remainder of the game.
Baker hasn’t had his best season in 2021, but he would have been better suited to help stop rookie tight end Kyle Pitts than a guy like Elandon Roberts who was trailing him late in the game.
Luckily, the Dolphins may get Baker back soon, as NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported Monday that the knee injury isn’t believed to be anything major.
This doesn’t mean that Baker won’t miss a week or two, but the knee doesn’t appear to be an injury that will put him on injured reserve. With the Bills coming up in Week 8, Miami’s defense will need all the help that they can get.
