New England Patriots tight end Austin Hooper is “fine” after taking a hit to the helmet in Sunday’s game against the Buffalo Bills, per coach Jerod Mayo, via Patriots.com’s Evan Lazar.
Hooper had four catches for 55 yards, including a 26-yard grab that was his longest of the afternoon. He has been a reliable target for quarterback Drake Maye this season with 38 catches for 430 yards and three touchdowns.
Hooper and fellow tight end, Hunter Henry, have been major contributors in an offense lacking in high-end receiving talent. With limitations at the receiver position, the Patriots have utilized both tight ends to create mismatches down the field.
The team will need Hooper as they get set to face the Los Angeles Chargers and Buffalo Bills in their final two games of the season. He has been a security blanket for Maye, and the offense will need his production to finish strong.
