Jeremy Sochan on Victor Wembanyama: ‘I think it’s going to be scary’

San Antonio Spurs forward Jeremy Sochan is hyped about his pairing with Victor Wembanyama.

Despite their disappointing past four seasons, the San Antonio Spurs have set themselves up for success in the coming years. They picked up Victor Wembanyama with the first pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, and the 19-year-old seems ready to be the face of the franchise for years to come.

But he’s not the only player on the roster. The Spurs have a lot of other young talent to be excited about, including the likes of Devin Vassell, Tre Jones, and Keldon Johnson. However, Jeremy Sochan might be the most intriguing guy on the roster, not named Wembanyama. And even he’s excited for Wembanyama.

During an interview with Bryan Kalbrosky of For The Win, Sochan spoke about his fit next to Wembanyama.

“I think it’s going to be scary,” Sochan said. “Defensively, it’s going to be hard to score against us. We are long. We’re pesky. Offensively, I’m going to be able to find him, and I think the beautiful thing about it is whoever gets the board, just push it. There is no need to pause after getting the defensive board. The way we want to play is: Whoever gets it, you run. You dribble the ball up. It’s going to make everything so much easier. It’s going to make it flow more. I think the potential on both sides is endless.”

Rumblings have indicated that Zach Collins will start at the center position, but that could open up Sochan and Wembanyama to start at the three and the four.

What are you expecting from the duo heading into next season?
