San Antonio Spurs forward Jeremy Sochan has had multiple hairstyles this season, and the rookie is trying to get another player to look like him: Houston’s Jabari Smith Jr.
Sochan and Smith were among the players that hit the court for practice ahead of the NBA Rising Stars competition on Friday in Salt Lake City, Utah. They were among the 11 rookies selected to compete in the festivities and were each drafted to Team Joakim.
The players practicing were miked up, leading to the discussion of Sochan trying to convince Smith to dye his hair being clearly heard. Sochan nearly got Smith to agree to a bet, but the Rockets forward quickly changed the conditions of it.
Sochan: If I make it half court, you gotta dye your hair.
Smith: Bet!
Sochan: Shake on it.
Smith: In the game!
Sochan: I’m talking about right now.
Smith: Oh, no! Not right now! No. No!
Sochan: In the game?
Smith: You got one try. If you do it in the game, yeah.
A deal is a deal 🤝
If Jeremy Sochan hits a half-court shot during #JordanRisingStars tonight Jabari Smith Jr. has to dye his hair.

Sochan often dyes his hair as a way to express himself on the court. He has chosen colors because of a social cause, such as raising awareness for breast cancer, or to match the Spurs’ “Fiesta” colors, which include turquoise, orange and fuchsia.
With terms of the bet set, it will be worth watching to see if Sochan will have the opportunity to hoist up a half-court shot to potentially force Smith into changing his hair color.
The two are teammates, so Smith should just never pass him the ball.
