KNOXVILLE — Third-year Tennessee head coach Jeremy Pruitt met with media Thursday.
One topic of discussion was Pruitt mentioning that Tennessee’s team has indicated they would like to wear black jersey against Kentucky this season.
The Vols have worn black jerseys one previous time in 2009 against South Carolina on Halloween night.
Pruitt mentioned that Tennessee could then auction the jerseys following the game against Kentucky and donate the money to Black Lives Matter.
Tennessee will play Kentucky on Nov. 7 at Neyland Stadium.
The Vols will kickoff the 2020 season Sept. 5 against Charlotte at Neyland Stadium and then travel to Oklahoma in Week 2. UT will host Furman in Week 3 before ending the opening month of play against Florida at home on Sept. 26.
