Jeremy Lin: Before Game 6, let me explain why Steph does NOT need a Finals MVP to validate his career. In fact, I’m so confused as to why this is even a conversation lol. But here are my top 2 reasons: 1. Steph was the best player, on the best regular season team ever. And season MVP. And NBA champ. All before KD got there. In the same way DWade didnt need to validate his career before LBJ got to MIA, Steph didnt need to before KD got to GSW. Steph is one of the greatest EVER! 2. Iggy got the 2015 NBA FMVP, bc he overexceeded the bar set for him. True, w/o Iggy, GSW dont win that chip. But w/o Steph, GSW gets swept. No disrespect to Iggy, but imo no one will ever truly believe Iggy was more valuable to GSW than Steph was in that first championship.
